Seeking candidates for ECF 2014 scholarships
Two places for fully funded participation (including travel costs) in eCampaigning & Fundraising Forum 2014 are available for participants from non-OECD countries: one from South Africa and one from elsewhere.
The funding for this initiative comes from eCampaigning Forum community who, inspired by Nelson Mandela’s life, contributed enough funds for a full sponsorship of two non-OECD participants, of which one must come from South Africa.
Criteria
What we are looking for is someone who:
- Has experience with campaigning
- Will benefit from participating
- Their campaign will benefit from their participation
- A willingness to present about their campaigning at ECF 2014 so event participants can benefit from their experience
- Ideas for bringing other campaigners from their country/region into the ECF community
Application
If you or someone you know meets the criteria, please have them apply by answering the questions below in English and email the answers to [email protected]:
- What country do you campaign in?
- What campaigns are/have they been involved in? What impact have they had? Where do they get their support (people, media, funding, etc.) and how was it achieved?
- How will you benefit from participating in ECF 2014?
- How will campaigns you are involved in benefit from your participation in ECF 2014?
- What could you present at ECF 2014 that other participants could learn from?
- If you are involved, how could more campaigners from your country/region be engaged in the eCampaigning Forum community for mutual benefit?
- Is it OK if your name, country and campaign is publicly listed as an applicant? This is not a requirement, but needs to be known in case being publicly listed would risk your safety or campaign.
Applications are due Jan 31, 2014 with selections made the week of Feb 3 so that invitations can be sent, visas applied for and travel bookings made.
Decision Making
All applications will be circulated to a small group of people to help in deciding the candidates. For unsuccessful candidates, a summary of your application will be publicly listed to show who else applied and to help in potentially raising more funds for additional candidates.
