This course covers the key methods that digital teams, campaigners and fundraisers can use to recruit new supporters.
You will learn top tips to recruit new supporters while keeping your cost per acquisition as low as possible plus tips for retaining and reactivating supporters.
Gaining new supporters is a constant requirement for NGOs, charities and nonprofits. Whether you’re raising money from online donors or asking your supporters to take action, there is always a need to grow your email list.

- About the trainers

Amelia Showalter is the former Director of Digital Analytics at President Obama’s re-election campaign. She led a cutting-edge Digital Analytics team that designed and implemented hundreds of experiments to improve the performance of all types of digital outreach. Before the Obama campaign, she provided data analysis and microtargeting to dozens of campaigns as a strategist at Changing Targets Media and MSHC Partners. Her new mission as a solo consultant is to bring the Obama campaign’s culture of rigorous testing and analysis to progressive organizations, campaigns, and firms.
Glyn Thomas is a digital communications consultant who has worked with NGOs and charities in the UK, Germany, Romania, the USA, Canada and Mexico. He specialises in helping charities recruit new supporters online, retain and reactivate lapsed supporters and maximise the numbers of people taking part in campaigns and donating. He has helped several UK-based charities more than quadruple their online fundraising income, and regularly delivers training on online campaigning and fundraising. Glyn previously worked at Friends of the Earth and Global Justice Now in London, as well as for Vienna-based digital agency more onion. Glyn has also given presentations at past ECF events on Digital fundraising via campaigning and Supporter re-activation and segmentation via email and was shortlisted for the Care2 Impact Awards presented at ECF 2014.
