Why is digital leadership important for NGOs?

These perspectives on digital leadership are from people experienced with working with NGOs to use digital networks and platforms to achieve their objectives and have an impact.

For over a decade, NGOs have slowly been adopting digital initiatives to help them achieve their aims and objectives.  Meanwhile new organisations designed for a digital age have been established which adapt much faster. Yet most digital managers feel their organisations are far from their potential and are often limited by not only senior leadership, but peers as well.

Digital Leadership is thus an emerging topic. It is not about digital for digital's sake, but about how NGOs can be using digital to help them fulfil their purposes and have an impact.

These perspectives on digital leadership are from people experienced with working with NGOs to use digital networks and platforms to achieve their objectives and have an impact. The interviews were conducted as part of the Digital Leadership Forum event in March 2013.
