Opening Speakers

Simon Moss of the Global Poverty Project and a second speaker (TBC) will provide insight into how campaigning, fundraising and volunteering can be combined so they both achieve the goals and benefit the supporters.

Simon Moss

Simon Moss the Managing Director of the Global Poverty Project which is also behind Global Citizen, the project which Bill Gates announced in his annual letter and what Forbes journalist Randall Lane called "the most powerful tool in the history of social activism" (a bit over-the-top, but it got people's attention).

It got the attention of the ECF community too, promoting a debate on the ECF list in January with concerns, criticisms, hopes, etc. and in which Simon chipped in. This 'new' Global Citizen initiative will be launched shortly after ECF 2015. Simon has agreed to come to share what they are planning and what they have learned in terms of getting a wide spectrum of society involved (something many NGOs fail to do) across the areas of campaigning, events, volunteering and beyond.
